NEW YORK — A boutique clothing store in the Manhattan borough of Brooklyn is offering $500 a day to customers for a week, according to the New York Post.
The store, called “The Brooklyn Store,” is located at 534 East 59th Street.
The post reports the store has received complaints from customers about “overpriced clothes.”
The chain, founded by New York fashion designer and current resident of Brooklyn, Zainab Ahmad, is based in the Brooklyn borough.
Ahmad, a native of Pakistan, immigrated to the United States in 2012.
She started selling items online and later launched her own line of clothing.
“We were so excited to be opening a boutique store in New York City,” Ahmad told the Post.
“But it’s just so far out of reach for people like me.
So, we have decided to launch a program for the people who want to shop our new arrivals.”
Ahmad has received praise for her business, and she has even been offered a job with the Fashion Institute of Technology.
